# Privacy Policy

> How Roddely collects, uses, shares and protects your account data, your customers' messages and comments, and the cookies on our website.

Roddely provides an AI customer-support assistant for online stores. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle when a merchant uses Roddely and when a shopper messages a store that runs on it or comments on its posts, and the choices you have. By using Roddely, you agree to the practices described here.

## Who we are [#who-we-are]

Roddely is a service that helps online stores answer their customers automatically. A store owner (the "merchant") connects the messaging channels and store tools they already use, and Roddely replies to their shoppers on their behalf. This policy covers the Roddely dashboard, the assistant that answers messages, and the related pages on our website.

## Information we collect [#information-we-collect]

* **Merchant account information**: the details you give us when you create and manage an account, such as your name, email address, business name, and sign-in credentials.
* **Store and catalog content**: the product, pricing, and business information you add so the assistant can answer your customers accurately.
* **Customer messages and replies**: the messages shoppers send to the channels you connect, and the replies the assistant sends back, so conversations stay in context and you can review them.
* **Comments on your posts**: when you connect a Facebook Page or an Instagram account, the public comments people leave on its posts, including each commenter's name and account ID; the caption, link, and thumbnail of the post a comment is on; and the public and private replies sent through Roddely.
* **Basic usage information**: standard technical data such as log and device information that helps us keep the service running, secure, and reliable.
* **Website visit information**: which pages of our website you view and how you arrived, such as the link or ad you came from, as described in [Cookies and advertising](#cookies-and-advertising).

We only collect what we need to provide and improve the service.

## How we use information [#how-we-use-information]

We use the information above to:

* operate the service and let the assistant respond to your customers;
* improve the quality, accuracy, and reliability of the assistant;
* provide support and respond to your requests;
* keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

**We do not sell your information.**

## How information is shared [#how-information-is-shared]

We share information only as needed to run the service:

* **Trusted service providers** that help us operate — for example hosting, AI processing, and the messaging platforms you choose to connect. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
* **Connected platforms** — when you connect a channel or store tool, information also flows through that platform, and its own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of it.
* **Google**: when you visit our public pages or sign up, the Google tag tells Google Ads whether a click on one of our ads led to a sign-up, as described in [Cookies and advertising](#cookies-and-advertising).
* **Legal reasons** — when we are required to by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

## Cookies and advertising [#cookies-and-advertising]

Our website uses first-party cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how people find and use Roddely.

* **Product analytics**: we use PostHog to count page views and the steps of signing up, such as which page a visit started on and whether it ended in a new account. Inside the dashboard, PostHog also links these events to your account's internal ID, so our support team can see where a setup step such as connecting a channel failed. It never receives your name, email address or phone number.
* **Google Ads conversion measurement**: our public pages and our sign-up and onboarding pages load the Google tag. It stores first-party cookies (such as `_gcl_au`, and `_gcl_aw` when you arrive from one of our Google ads) so Google Ads can tell us whether an ad click led to a sign-up. We use it only to measure our ads: ad personalization is turned off for this tag, so your visit is not added to remarketing audiences. It does not run in the rest of the dashboard or in the chat widget on stores' websites. Google handles this information under its own [privacy policy](https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, though blocking all cookies also stops you from staying signed in. You can control the ads Google shows you in [My Ad Center](https://myadcenter.google.com).

## Security [#security]

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit who can access it.

## How long we keep information [#how-long-we-keep-information]

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, and we delete it as described in our [Data Deletion](/legal/data-deletion) instructions, except where we are required to keep certain records by law.

## Your choices and rights [#your-choices-and-rights]

You can access, update, or delete your account information from the dashboard or by contacting us. You may also disconnect any connected channel at any time. For details on removing your data, see our [Data Deletion](/legal/data-deletion) page.

## Children [#children]

Roddely is a business tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

## Changes to this policy [#changes-to-this-policy]

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service means you accept the updated policy.

## Contact us [#contact-us]

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at <ContactEmail />.
